TON Domains: search, bid and register .ton names

TON domains are human-readable names on TON DNS, the naming system of the TON blockchain. A name like alice.ton replaces a long wallet address, works in Tonkeeper, Telegram's wallet and other TON apps, and lives in your wallet as an NFT. How to register a TON domain

Search for the name. If it's free, start its auction with the opening bid for its length. The auction runs for about a week; if nobody outbids you, the .ton domain is yours. Connect any TON wallet, such as Tonkeeper or Telegram Wallet, and confirm the bid. When you win, set your wallet record so the name points to you.

TON domain auctions

Every new .ton name is sold in an open on-chain auction run by the TON DNS smart contract. There is no registrar and no checkout: each bid must be at least 5% above the last, outbid amounts are refunded automatically, and bids in the final hour extend the auction so nobody can snipe a name.

No yearly fee

Unlike .eth names, TON domains have no rent. A domain stays active for one year after its last record update, and any update resets the year. Names that expire go back to auction, which is how premium TON domains return to the market.

How much does a .ton domain cost?

The opening bid depends only on the length of the name: 100 Gram for 4 characters, 50 for 5, 40 for 6, 30 for 7, 20 for 8, 10 for 9, 5 for 10 and 1 Gram for 11 characters or more. Popular names sell for more once other people bid.

Do .ton domains have a yearly fee?

No. A .ton domain has no rent. It stays active for one year after its last on-chain update, and any record update, which costs about 0.01 Gram, resets that year.

How long does a TON domain auction last?

About one week from the first bid. Each new bid must be at least 5% higher than the last, outbid amounts are returned automatically, and bids in the final hour extend the auction.

What characters can a .ton domain use?

Lowercase letters a–z, digits 0–9 and hyphens, from 4 to 126 characters. Names in other scripts are stored in punycode.
