How Many Telegram Wallets Are There? Live Stats From the TON Blockchain
Telegram switched on its built-in, non-custodial wallet for everyone on 9 October 2026. Since then one question keeps coming up: how many people actually use it? Telegram hasn't published a number, so we count the wallets ourselves, directly from the TON blockchain. The result is a free, public page: Telegram Wallets live stats.
The numbers today
As of 20 October 2026:
- 137,900+ Telegram Wallets exist on-chain;
- about 3,900 new wallets a day on average over the last 30 days;
- more than 52,000 wallets hold a balance, about 120,000 Gram in total;
- hundreds of wallets are active every day, with over a thousand transactions between them.
These figures change every minute. The stats page always shows the current total, new wallets today, wallets active today, transactions today, the Gram they hold, charts by hour and by day, the newest wallets and the largest balances.
How we count Telegram Wallets
Every Telegram Wallet is a smart contract on TON. They all run the same small program, a "trampoline" that loads its logic from the TON network's configuration. Because the program is identical, every Telegram Wallet has the same code hash, and that's how we recognise one.
Namespace runs its own indexer that reads every transaction on the TON blockchain as it happens, with less than a minute of delay, and it has replayed the chain back to the end of August 2026, before the wallet's public launch. Whenever an account with the Telegram Wallet code hash shows up, it's counted.
Two details matter if you compare numbers:
- A wallet appears on-chain after its first outgoing transaction. Before that it's an empty, "uninitialised" address, even if Gram has already arrived. Our headline total counts only wallets whose code we can verify, so it never includes guesses.
- Telegram pays network fees for its users through a set of relay wallets. We follow those relayers too, which lets us find new wallets quickly.
Our count matches independent trackers to within about half a percent.
What the data shows so far
The launch week brought the biggest wave: tens of thousands of wallets in the first days, as people received Gram from friends and from activation campaigns. Growth has since settled into a steady few thousand new wallets a day. Most balances are small. Many wallets hold only the 0.1 Gram that activated them, while a small group of wallets holds most of the Gram.
That pattern is typical of a new consumer wallet: wide reach first, real usage later. The daily "active wallets" and "transactions" figures are the ones to watch as payments, gifts and username purchases move into Telegram.
Privacy: addresses, not people
Everything on the stats page is public on-chain data. We never link a wallet address to a Telegram account, a phone number or a person, and we don't try to. The page shows shortened addresses that link to a public TON explorer, nothing more.
Don't have a Telegram Wallet yet?
Your wallet only turns on after it receives its first 0.1 Gram. Namespace sends it for free: here's how to activate your Telegram Wallet, or go straight to namespace.my/activate/telegram-wallet.
Need this data for your business?
The stats page is a small window into a much larger dataset. Wallet and exchange teams, analysts and growth teams can get wallet-level activity, balances and a real-time feed of new wallets through an API. See Namespace Data for Business or the Data for Business page.
Frequently asked questions
Where do the Telegram Wallet numbers come from?
From the TON blockchain itself. Namespace reads every transaction and counts accounts running the Telegram Wallet contract. No estimates and no third-party APIs.
How often are the stats updated?
Continuously. New wallets show up within about a minute; the page refreshes every minute.
Why is my new wallet not counted yet?
A Telegram Wallet appears on-chain after its first outgoing transaction. Send or spend some Gram and it will be counted.
Is the Telegram Wallet the same as @wallet?
No. @wallet is a separate, custodial service. The Telegram Wallet counted here is the non-custodial wallet built into the Telegram app, found under Settings → Wallet.
